Brutal embrace. The Carmanah Table was inspired by the exploration of materiality. The Carmanah Valley is home to some of the largest old-growth trees on Vancouver Island, as well as home to the quarry that yields the black marble. With the materials existing in such proximity in nature, we wanted to explore what they could look like together.
