Here’s a fairly new product, replacing split shot for holding your egg sinker above the hook, and finding a lot of others uses as well. Just use your needle nose to squeeze the Carolina Keeper and a slit opens up for you to insert your line. Adjust the Keeper, to the desired distance above your hook and you’re done. The sinker will stay up there were you put it. It’s easy to use, gentle on the line, and effective. (The picture shows a keeper on the line.) Each pack holds several of the Keepers, enough for many day’s fishing, or if you’re lucky even less. Guys fishing bait will find them very useful, better than lead, more secure, darn hard to see, too. But, there are also other uses like rigging dropper loops with less chance of breaking your line, hoochies… You’ll find these very useful little gizmos.
