The Carp Torch is a carp fly pattern designed by Rob Gee from Troutlore Fly Tying Store with the intention of offering a fly that can be fished through four distinct feeding patterns observed in cap behavior. This allows you to have one fly tied on, ready to go, which can be fished to different fish, since there is rarey time to swap flies before a feeding carp moves on. The Carp Torch will sit on the water's surface as a dry fly for fishing feedin on top. A couple of quick strips and it will slowly go under, where it can be fished to carp that are cruising in one or two feet of water. Cast wet, but not soaked, and it is ideal for fish feeding with their backs out of the water, eating in extremely shallow levels. Then, soaked in spit, it will go down to the bottom in slightly deeper water when tailing fish are present. Tied in the black and chartreuse combination, this is the third colour option of this pattern that, like the others, has proven itself especially in dirty water. It has accounted for several hundred carp at the time of writing this, although that number grows every week. Tied on an Ahrex FW580 Wet Fly Hook, these are built tough to handle big fish, and has proven itself in the arena time and time again. Now sold as single units per hook size.
