The all new Carr Skylark Special Head is an updated version of the beloved Skylark. We were a little leery when Steve told us an update was coming as the Skylark is one of our all-time favorite Carr amps, but we trusted his expertise and the final product is awesome! Hear countless classic American guitar recordings and you'll notice a common thread: the delicious, juicy tones of the tweed and blackface era. Known for producing both clean and overdriven tube sounds at reasonable volumes, amps like the '50s tweed Harvard, Deluxe, and '60s blackface Princeton Reverb inspired the creation of the Carr Skylark. The new Skylark Special stays true to this tradition, with added versatility and even richer sonic capabilities in this updated version of the original model.The Carr Skylark Special boasts an impressive 12 watts thanks to its pair of 6V6GT power tubes. The newly designed, vintage-inspired cabinet is lightweight and made from high-quality Baltic-birch plywood, resulting in better focused tonal projection. The EZ81 tube rectifier has replaced fast-recovery diodes, giving players a more responsive and tactile playing experience.
