Cartographers: A Roll Player Tale is a fantasy map drawing game where players compete to create the most valuable map for Queen Gimnax and the Kingdom of Nalos. Each season, players reveal Explore cards and simultaneously draw terrain shapes onto their own map sheets. Forests, farms, villages and water can all help fulfil the Queen’s scoring edicts, but monster ambushes can ruin a carefully planned map and give opponents a chance to interfere. Across spring, summer, autumn and winter, players earn reputation stars based on changing scoring cards. The winner is the cartographer with the most reputation at the end of winter. Fantasy map drawing: Fill your grid with forests, farms, villages and water to claim the northern lands for the Kingdom of Nalos. Simultaneous turns: Everyone draws at the same time from the same Explore card, keeping the game moving quickly even with large groups. Changing scoring edicts: Four scoring cards are arranged differently each game, so the best map layout changes from session to session. Monster ambushes: Dragul monsters can appear on your map, forcing awkward spaces and giving opponents a way to disrupt your plans. Seasonal structure: Score at the end of each season, with different edicts mattering in spring, summer, autumn and winter. Roll Player universe: A standalone game set in the same fantasy world as Roll Player, with no other game required.
