This ingredient is supplied as a raw botanical material suitable for applications that require bark-based plant components for visual, structural, or general formulation purposes. Its cut form and natural profile make it appropriate for a range of non-ingestible uses, including botanical blends, formulation work, and craft applications. Cascara Bark is provided solely as a botanical ingredient intended for general formulation or craft use. This product has been considered a novel food by the Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ), with guidance from the Advisory Committee on Novel Foods (ACNF). In addition, products containing novel food ingredients are treated as taxable supplies, meaning GST is applied in accordance with guidelines from the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).
