This smoked single malt has been matured in a Moscatel wine cas k to explore the elegant interplay between maritime smoke and the floral sweetness of the white wine cask. Made from 100% locally sourced, floor-malted barley dried in a kiln with Danish peat & heather, and created in a grain-to-glass distillery that honours traditional production methods to develop a spirit with true depth and character. The whisky was smoked with peat and heather from the surrounding landscape, and since July 2020, the smoked spirit has been drawing character from the Moscatel cask, which over 7 years gradually brings a bright and fruity elegance to the robust smoke. Stauning Smoke offers notes of campfire, citrus, honey and fragrant herbs. The Moscatel cask adds delicate layers of ripe pear, apricot, jasmine and a honeyed nectar sweetness, rounding out the smoky elements beautifully.
