Remove all the skin off of the root and make sure to cook 'em thoroughly! Cassava can be eaten whole (once the skin is removed and the starchy inside of the root is cooked thorough ly), grated, ground into flour to make bread and crackers, or crafted into cake. Cassava may be dangerous if consumed raw, in large amounts, or when it is prepared improperly.
