Cassie and mimosa are both members of the Acacia family. Mimosa is sweeter and more refined, while cassie is fuller bodied and complex. Both are essential naturals for perfumers, with mimosa often appearing as a rich floral note in fine fragrances and cassie being used to create masterful floral bases or add a je ne sais quoi. Cassie is a wonderful naturalizer and can round out and enrich fragrances at mere traces in much the same way as violet leaves do. For clarification, we offer the following: Mimosa (Acacia dealbata or decurrens): Natural Absolute, or Mimosa de Provence [base]Cassie (Acacia farnesiana): Natural Absolute [this product], or Fleur de Cassie [base]Pink Acacia: Unrelated to the acacia plant family this is faux acacia or Black Locust. Cassie absolute blends exceptionally well with the aforementioned bases as well as Violet Leaf “Signature” Absolute, Violette Bleue and the classic synthetics of this family Isoraldeine™ Cetone Alpha (Givaudan), Iralia® (Firmenich), Methyl Ionone Gamma Coeur (IFF) and Methyl Ionone Alpha Extra (IFF). Because of the high cost of this material, we are also offering it at 10% in natural odourless triethyl citrate.
