Cast from a single tiny vertebra extracted from an owl pellet. Recycled sterling silver or recycled 14k gold. Stud is approximately: .17 x .31 inches (4 x 8 mm) From the artist: I started Thicket for fellow lovers of nature - for anyone who has ever picked up a smooth stone or seed pod and slipped it into their pocket as a way to carry a small piece of landscape with them. I make each piece by hand from castings of botanical samples and natural objects in my sunny Maine studio. My aim is to preserve the small details of the natural world that have always fascinated me. Thicket's entire process is deeply tactile and sustainability is a key focus of Thicket's design and production practices.
