Growers can expect Castagnat figs to grow into a round shape. While these yellow fruits are typically small, Castagnat trees are very productive and grow a large harvest. In addition to being early ripening, the figs also have a good resistance to splitting, meaning fewer fruits are lost in heavy rains and high humidity. Castagnat has amber and pink pulp with a complex figgy flavor. The rare and juicy figs originally come from the collection of Figues du Monde. Castagnat trees will grow mostly 5 lobed leaves with straight margins. Terms and Conditions: ***Please be sure to read our Terms and Conditions before purchasing cuttings*** When do we ship cuttings? Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December): We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March. **All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refrigerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees. Rooted Cuttings(Spring): We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span.
