Oil on Linen 100cm x 120cm Stretched, ready to hang. My work is always inspired by light in the first instance and then evolves into a story. This new series is from a photo shoot conducted with my daughter during lock-down this year and although it was Autumn the strong light created many beautiful vignettes. This painting became a reflection on the effects of the Covid-19 lock-down and in particular on young people - how it must feel as though they've been cast off towards a future that is becoming increasingly tenuous. There is optimism however - it's there in the sparkle of the water, and the bright daylight streaming down onto the girl on the cheery orange floatie - to me it speaks of better days coming. Show more
