After working at sea for many years, Amy & Adam decided they wanted to do something positive about the staggering amount of plastic waste in the oceans. Fishing equipment lost at sea is called "Ghost Gear" and can travel for many miles ensnaring all manner of marine life until it reaches the shore. Castaway Ropeworks hand make all their products out of Ghost Gear, utilising the dying art of ropework skills. All the material used in these dog leads has been sourced from Cornwall and Isles of Scilly, as well as using donated rope retrieved from shipwrecks. As each product is handmade, they will all slightly vary in size, colour, style and quality... making each product totally unique. When you purchase one of these toys, you know that you are playing a vital part in supporting the recycling of marine plastics and keeping our oceans and beaches clean and safe for both humans and animals. Every item has a tag to say where we have recovered it from, so you will always know the origin of your dog toy... how amazing is that!
