Castello d'Alba is the project of winemaker Rui Madeira, sourcing grapes from old-vine terraced vineyards in the Douro Valley at around 500 metres above sea level. Planted on schist soils, these ancient vines produce low yields of intensely flavoured fruit — and in the whites, a mineral precision and freshness that is rare in the Douro.About This WineA crisp, elegant Douro white blending indigenous varieties Rabigato, Gouveio, and Viosinho from old vines farmed sustainably. Rui selects more acidic grape varieties to preserve freshness and balance, resulting in a wine with real mineral character and a stony, citrus-driven personality. Drink young to enjoy its best.Tasting NotesColour: Very pale straw with green highlightsNose: Citrus blossom, white flowers, and fresh stone fruit with a stony mineral edgePalate: Crisp and mouth-watering with bright acidity, white fruit, and a pronounced mineral backboneFinish: Clean and refreshing with lingering citrus and flintFood PairingAn excellent aperitif and a natural partner for grilled fish, shellfish, oysters, fresh salads, and light seafood dishes.DetailsGrape: Rabigato, Gouveio & ViosinhoRegion: Douro, PortugalFarming: SustainableStyle: Crisp Refreshing WhiteServing Temperature: 8–10°CAlcohol: 12.5%Bottle: 75clDrink: In the next two years
