Castle Panic is one of D20's most recommended games, particularly for families with kids and kids of different ages. The game is everyone against the game, so everyone can and shou ld play with their cards face up, so older siblings and parents can help the younger kids join in even if their reading skills aren't up to the task quite yet. The game is about getting rid of the monsters( tiles that get pulled out of a bag like scrabble tiles) before they can knock down the castle walls and get to the middle of the board. The game is as long as the number of tiles in the bag, so parents can pull a bunch out it they want the game to be less challenging/shorter. And the cooperative nature of everyone against the game means that you get a little break from the constant teaching of good sportsmanship between the kids. You and your friends must work together to defend your Castle, in the center of the board, from Monsters that attack out of the forest, at the edges of the board.
