Cat8 is the fastest copper patch cord there is. It's rated to 2000 MHz, four times Cat6A, and carries 25GBase-T and 40GBase-T over a 30-meter channel, which is exactly the distance you need for a switch-to-server or rack-to-rack link and no further. Each of the four pairs is wrapped in its own foil and a braid surrounds all four (S/FTP), because at these frequencies shielding isn't optional. Shielded metal RJ45 plugs at both ends carry the shield through to the jack. The 24 AWG stranded copper conductors keep it as flexible as a cable this heavily shielded can be, at 8.0 mm.
