During the hot sum mer months here in LA, ant trails lead up to his bowl and it can get kinda gnarly so I learned from my dad who used to take two bowls and nest them, then fill a layer of water on the rim to deter ants. It works but I don't have a lot of bowls so I designed this for Ollie cause he's the light of my life.
