Pearl and UV, for the last hour of light The pearl body carries a high ultra violet content, and that matters most when visible light is running out: dusk, deep shade under a bank, and the flat grey of an overcast evening. Trout see further into the ultra violet than we do, so a fly that reflects it stays findable when a drab pattern has effectively disappeared. The foam underwing keeps it floating high through all of that, and will hold a small tungsten nymph underneath if you want one. A good last-cast fly. Show more
