U.S. Navy ships lifeboat compass. Manufactured by the Lionel Corp. for the U.S. Navy Bureau of Ships. Rare older conversion to Table Lamp configuration. Compass is functional while the compass face presents with some interior discoloration. Age is beauty. Compass cabinet is lighted, (4-watt LED nightlight) as well as the associated upper lamp (40-watt LED). Lamp utilizes a 3- way switch. OFF - Upper - Lower - Both. Entire unit is mounted on a wooden base, with original clear coated brass and copper construction. Original unused fuel oil burner sits in a separate hinged side cabinet.
