The debut album of the Snyder x Dudar Quartet! The title track of "Into The Blue" takes inspiration from the life and art of the late Esbjörn Svensson. When asked what it feels lik e to improvise on stage, being an experienced diver, Svensson makes the analogy of diving into unknown waters or going "into the blue". While this feeling can be intense and sometimes scary, it is truly what improvising musicians live for. The single "Portrait of Peace", in contrast to the title track, is an uptempo, feel good groove in 7 that will leave you singing the melody for days to come. Inspired by Jaco Pastorious’ “Portrait of Tracy", this song is a call to end war and unite in Peace.
