Just like its predecessor, the Life X houses an impressive 250 W motor and a set of hefty, 50mm flat steel burrs in a surprisingly compact and stylish frame—just 5.9” wide, 7.9” deep, and 14.2” tall. Switching between the single-dosing apparatus and the 8.8 oz bean hopper is incredibly easy, as is swapping between the hands-free portafilter fork and the dosing cup platform. The full range of stepless, micrometric grind adjustments is accessed by a single turn of the knob, meaning the numbers on the dial are actually indicative of the grind size you’ve set a 3 is going to be the same every time. This makes switching between large and small grind sizes easy, so you can flow from brewing pour-over to espresso without needing to dial in again.
