Sourced from a market in Bamberg, this antique German stoneware jar — known as a Keulse pot or Cologne pot — originates from the Westerwald region, famous for its salt-glazed potte ry dating back to the 1500s. The distinctive grey surface with cobalt-blue decoration was achieved by adding salt to the kiln during firing, creating a subtly glossy, textured finish. Traditionally used for storing foods like sauerkraut and beans through the winter, these utilitarian vessels now make beautiful kitchen or shelf accents. dimensions: 6"W x 4.75"dia x 5.5"H Show more
