Updated on July 4, 2026: This has been sold. Frosted glass inkwell created for the 1876 Centennial Exposition in Philadelphia, commemorating the 100th anniversary of American indep endence. Embossed on one side with the text: “PROCLAIM / 1776 / LIBERTY” And on the reverse: “PEACE AND / 1876 / GOODWILL” The piece is shaped in the likeness of the Liberty Bell with the iconic crack, and atop that, a globe.
