We have created chopstick rests made of various materials that will blend in with your usual dining table while adding a new touch of colour. Even if it is difficult to change your tableware with the seasons, chopstick rests can be easily incorporated and add variety. Why not enjoy combining small chopstick rests with your dining table? Each of the three types was made using a different glaze to create a different look. Even if the same clay is used, the clay, glaze, and the manufacturing method that leaves handprints behind make each one look different, which is what makes them so appealing. The tatara moulding method is used to press the clay into the mould, giving them a warm appearance that makes you feel the handprints of the person. It is interesting that even chopstick rests of the same colour have different looks because they are made using rough clay that contains Shigaraki pebbles. We made them in geometric shapes rather than concrete motifs so that they can be easily combined with any dining table. We have made them with angular designs that make it easy to see the changes in the clay and glaze. We have made them with high ends and a concave centre so that the chopsticks can be placed stably without rolling.
