Not sure if you are interested in becoming a throwing or handbuilding type of ceramicist? Try the Throwing Wheel for 2,5 hours and find out! 1.Session: 7-9:30pm (weekdays) / 10:00am-12:30pm (Saturdays) Short introduction into the world of clay, followed by a demonstration of how to prepare and center the clay on the wheel as well as how to create a vessel. Afterwards you will have around two hours to try on your own, guided by one of our teachers. At the end of the class you‘ll get to choose 1-2 pieces you made which will be glazed in food-safe glossy transparent glaze for you. Please note that you will not be trimming foot rings or glaze your pieces in this class. If you would like to learn how to trim and glaze yourself, please take a look at our two- and three day classes: Throwing Wheel for Beginners (three days: throwing, trimming and glazing) or Weekender Throwing Wheel for Beginners (two-days: throwing and trimming, no glazing, either in the morning or in the evening). How to prepare for the class: For the classes you might want to wear something you wouldn‘t mind getting a little dirty as well as shorten your finger nails. We will provide an apron and everything that's needed for every participant. Pick-Up: Finalizing your pieces might take between 3-6 weeks. Once your pieces are ready, you will be notified via email and might pick up your pieces during our Open Studio Hours on Thursdays between 5-9pm. Our workshops are held on a monthly basis so there will be a chance for everyone to make a booking according to their schedule. Otherwise please make sure your friend is available for the date you have booked and see our cancellation policy below. Cancellation Policy: In case you need to cancel your booking please do so one month prior to our first session in order to get a full refund. If you cancel more than 14 days before the class you are eligible for a refund about 50% of the price you paid. Any cancellations later than 14 days before the class can’t be refunded. You are welcome to pass your participation to a friend if you beforehand send an email including your friend’s name. Also please make sure to block all dates of the sessions as they are fixed. Missed classes cannot be reimbursed or repeated. Rebooking of classes: You can change the date of your booking up to 14 days before the class to another class according to current availabilities. Please be aware that our classes are often sold out in advance and that you therefore might need to wait a few months. A rebooking fee of €15 applies to any modification to the original booking (like classes, dates or participants) and helps cover our administrative costs. We appreciate your understanding and are happy to answer any questions. Number of participants: The workshop will be held in a small group of six participants.
