This table is a collaborative work with Sydney based ceramicist Remy Pajaczkowski-Russell. Guiding the collaboration is material authenticity and local production in Sydney. For th e table, both metal and ceramic elements were left in their raw states, drawing focus to their natural contrast; the rich, textured red of the ceramic, against the smooth, reflective surface of the metal. The design features a central unglazed leg, made from wheel thrown terracotta, supporting a polished aluminium tabletop. Set into the middle of the table is a detachable cylindrical vase, which may be set with flowers. As each piece is handmade, natural variations in size, colour, texture and effect is expected.
