Ceratopteris siliquosa — the Sumatra fern — is a decorative aquatic fern producing irregularly shaped, lightly textured light green leaves on a compact rhizome. It grows to approximately 60cm in height in good conditions, making it a suitable background plant for medium and large aquariums. Each leaf takes its own individual shape, adding a natural, organic quality rather than the uniform appearance of many cultivated aquarium plants.It grows at a good pace once rooted, with strong roots that permeate the substrate and anchor the plant securely. Propagate by trimming lateral shoots and replanting them. No CO2 required, though moderate lighting supports good growth.
