A rare and fascinating African aroid that undergoes a dramatic transformation as it matures. Juvenile plants display striking white venation and patterning on heart-shaped leaves reminiscent of a Philodendron; as the plant ages, the variegation fades and the leaves develop slits and fenestrations, taking on the appearance of a Monstera. This remarkable ontogenetic shift makes it one of the most botanically intriguing aroids available to collectors. Light: Bright indirect light; tolerates moderate shade. Avoid direct sun, which can bleach the juvenile patterning. Temperature: Warm-growing; prefers 65–85°F (18–29°C). Protect from temperatures below 55°F (13°C). Humidity: High humidity preferred — 60–80% for optimal growth. Use a humidifier or enclosed growing environment. Watering: Keep the substrate evenly moist but well-drained. Allow the top inch to dry slightly between waterings; avoid waterlogging. Growth Habit: Vining and climbing; benefits from a moss pole or support structure to encourage larger leaf development.
