Our Japanese Ceremonial Grade-A Yame Matcha is the highest grade of ceremonial matcha available, sourced from the Yame Region of Japan. The leaves are carefully selected from the first harvest of the season and stone-ground into a silky, vibrant emerald green powder using traditional methods perfected over centuries. Unlike steeped green tea, matcha delivers the whole leaf in every cup. That means more antioxidants, more L-theanine, and a richer flavor in every sip. Flavor Profile Expect a naturally sweet umami base with layers of vegetal notes, subtle nuttiness, and a hint of pleasant astringency. The aroma is fresh and grassy, and the color is a striking, vivid green. When whisked properly, it produces a smooth, frothy cup that reveals new flavor notes with each sip. A Better Alternative to Coffee Matcha delivers calm, focused energy without the jitters or crash. The combination of caffeine and L-theanine provides sustained alertness and mental clarity that lasts longer than a typical cup of coffee. How to Prepare Traditional matcha: Add 1 tsp of matcha to a matcha bowl. Pour about 2 oz of hot water (just below boiling). Whisk vigorously in a "W" motion with a bamboo whisk until frothy and smooth, then add 6 oz more water and whisk to combine. Matcha latte: Whisk 1 tsp of matcha with 2 oz of hot water to form a smooth paste. Add your favorite milk (almond, oat, coconut, or dairy) and sweetener to taste. Whisk until combined. Note: When you first open the tin, a small puff of matcha may escape when the inner lid pops open. That's proof of the air-tight seal. Use the outer lid between uses to maintain freshness.
