Cerise Set, 2024 Hand-carved ring set in recycled 9k yellow gold with rhodalite garnet and sapphires. A paired ring set exploring chromatic intensity and molten surface. Sculpted in wax and cast in recycled gold, Cerise presents a concentrated field of colour within a textured, tactile form. The Story Cerise forms part of Annie King’s exploration of colour as material language. A rhodolite garnet anchors the composition, encircled by an ombré sequence of red and orange sapphires that trace the band in a subtle chromatic gradient. The accompanying contoured band is designed to sit in dialogue with the primary ring, creating a modular pairing that can be worn together or independently. Both rings carry AOK’s molten exterior texture—an index of process and gesture—contrasted with a polished interior surface for comfort and wearability. Each set is made to order, allowing natural variation in texture and stone placement to emerge, positioning every pair as a singular artefact rather than a replicated object.
