Karpíšek), employed at a leading fashion salon in Prague. Viewed as harmless by his clients and models, they unhesitatingly undress and flirt in front of him, while also subtly exploiting him. The stress of monotonous work, advancing age, and a hidden sexual deviance weigh heavily on him, more than anyone realizes. One day, unable to control himself, Opatovský unleashes his pent-up aggression on a young photographer, Monica, whom he attacks and strangles in a secluded area. Monica manages to photograph him before dying, but he discards the camera in a water reservoir.
