Choice antique American engraved sperm whale's tooth with a ship HOMEWARD BOUND passing a lighthouse (Possibly New Bedford's Clark Point Lighthouse). The flies an owner's flag with a large letter "A". Above the vignette is a portrait of a lady and the bottom is dot engraved "HOMEWARD BOUND". The condition is very good with a rich patina.
