Vought Aircraft’s VE-7 made its mark in aviation history in 1922, becoming the first aircraft to take off from a carrier. Chance Milton Vought, a young and ambitious aeronautical e ngineer and aviation pioneer, established Vought Aircraft in 1917. In 1926, Vought again revolutionized the aviation industry with the O2U-1, a biplane used at sea and on land. Vought Aircrafts boasts more than 15,000 aircrafts in more than 50 models. Many of Vought’s aircrafts, including the F4U Corsair, F8U Crusader and A-7 Corsair II, contributed to aviation victories for the U.S. military and Vought was awarded the Collier Trophy for his F8U aircraft.
