The 2021 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru has a nuanced bouquet with red berries, briar and bay leaf, a pinch of brown spice emerging with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with s apid red fruit on the entry, brittle tannins and touches of Earl Grey infusing the red berry fruit. A little spicier on the finish than its peers, this is a fine Grand Cru that perhaps just lacks a bit of length and density. Maybe it will gain that with age? Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
