Once charred it takes a spark very easily, and can be used to start your tinder bundle with little effort. There are many methods and practice will build your confidence. Take advantage of your tinder box to snuff out the ember if needed. If you light the char cloth in the tin, to put it out you just need to close the lid a wait a few minutes.
