Firevein is a chawan of contrast and tension; stone and light, cold and warmth, stillness and surprise. Its exterior is carved, echoing the sharp faces of fractured rock or alpine stone. The glaze is over crystallized with a dusting of tiny blue blooms, each surrounded by wide, icy white halos that catch the light like frozen lichen.
