The bigger grid lines are more suitable for younger artists. 2 Children use a pencil to draw their dad. Encourage them draw a large face and think of their dad’s features. If they are having difficulty, you can always look at images on the Internet of “how to draw men’s faces” and children can find features that are similar to their dad. 3 Outline all pencil lines with the black marker. 4 Colour squares on face in warm colours…red, pink, orange, yellow. Colour squares randomly so that no pattern develops. Do not colour hair or eyes. 5 Colour squares in the background with cool colours…. green, blue, purple. 6 Paste onto a black background if they are to be displayed in the classroom. Alternatively, paste on a warm coloured background if the children are going to write a message for dad on the back to give as a gift.
