Large firm fleshed green-gold fruit ripening in late August to early September. While many websites describe the fruit as sweet, we would argue that it is more on the tart side. Th is may have to do with the timing of the pick. Chehalis is best eaten directly from the tree as it doesn’t store well. They are, however, a good apple for applesauce and baking. Chehalis has good resistance to scab and mildew. Self fertile but will have increased yields with a partner. Show more
