Grower's Notes (Our Experience): Chermesina willow provides beautiful year-round interest for us, displaying striking green foliage against red stems in the summer and vibrant color in the winter. As the branches age, the older sections shift to a softer yellow tone. When dried, which takes about six to seven months, this willow successfully maintains much of its original color. To keep the bright coloration, we recommend pruning it back close to the ground every year, as the most distinctive color characteristics appear on the first-year growth.
