Every bike-hook is crafted to sit on the top of the door jam and securely locks when the door is closed. The bike can be effortlessly taken off when the door is open. How do you mount the bike on the rear door ? This is a commonly asked question. For correct installation, place the hook on the front fork of your bike while it is on the ground, then transfer it to the door. NO NEED TO CONNECT THE BIKE TO THE HOOK WHILE THE HOOK IS ON THE DOOR. In addition, we provide a stainless steel safety cable that connects your bike to the Bike-Hook. Do the bikes need to be strapped down while driving ? For daily driving, road and dirt road use, there is no need to secure your bikes. For overland, off road and adventure trails, we recommend a tie down. We have over 60k miles of road tests and supporting video to show the movement or lack thereof.
