Carobbio is a small, family-run estate in the heart of the Chianti Classico zone — the historic black rooster territory between Florence and Siena where Sangiovese has been grown for centuries and where the best wines age with a grace and complexity that few Italian reds can match. The estate farms organically on the high-altitude soils of Panzano in Chianti, one of the appellation's most celebrated sub-zones, and their Chianti Classico is a benchmark expression of what this terroir can produce. The '18 is a wine with real depth and presence — a vintage that delivered exceptional concentration and structure across Tuscany. Expect dark cherry, dried herbs, leather, and a hint of tobacco on the nose, with a full, structured palate, firm but refined tannins, and a long, savoury finish. At 14.5% ABV it has the weight to stand up to rich food: pair it with bistecca alla Fiorentina, wild boar ragù, aged Pecorino, or a well-aged hard cheese. Decant for 30 minutes before serving.
