The way we utilize this chart in our home is the child earns a star in a jar once they have completed all their daily chores! We have listed weekly chores that they can freely choose to do to earn extra stars per weekly chore that is completed! Once they have earned all 20 stars in their jar, they get a reward of their choosing!! Feel free to use beans, buttons, stones or coins instead of the cutout stars or whatever you have on hand in your home! This system is based on a positive reward system. It helps children replace negative behaviors with positive ones and with a supportive environment it can build confidence and encourages good behavior. Tip: We place our Chore Chart in a paper sheet protector so we can use a dry erase marker with our Weekly Chore Chart and just wipe it off at the end of each week.
