Botanical Name: Capsicum annum Country of Origin: Mexico Common Name: Chilli Crushed English Name: Crushed Red Chilli Hindi Name: Lal Mirch Kuti Ayurvedic Name: Lal Mirch Also Known As: Crushed Chilli, Red Chilli Flakes, Dried Crushed Chilli, Lal Mirch Flakes, Crushed Red Pepper Part Used: Dried fruit of Capsicum annuum Description: Chilli Crushed is prepared from fully matured red fruit of Capsicum annuum, a plant native to Central and South America and widely cultivated in warm climates around the world. The fruits are harvested when fully ripe, then carefully cleaned to remove stems, seeds, and debris before processing. The cleaned fruit is dried using controlled low temperature methods to preserve colour, flavour, and structural integrity. Once dried, the chilli fruits are coarsely crushed to produce uniform flakes that retain the bright red colour and natural texture of the dried fruit. The crushed form allows for easy incorporation into culinary preparations, ensuring consistent distribution of colour, flavour, and texture. The product is stable, clean, and ready for blending, storage, or direct use. The crushed chilli flakes display a vivid red colour with natural variations in size, adding visual appeal and texture to any preparation. The coarse texture is ideal for seasoning blends, toppings, and mixes, providing the authentic appearance and feel of dried red chilli without losing its natural characteristics. Uses: Chilli Crushed is widely used in culinary applications to add vibrant colour, visual appeal, and a mild to strong spicy flavour depending on the variety. It can be incorporated into soups, sauces, marinades, stir-fries, curries, and dry spice blends to evenly distribute heat and texture. The flakes are also suitable for garnishing pizzas, pasta dishes, and snacks, providing both flavour and decorative appeal. Additionally, Crushed Chilli can be used in creating customised spice mixes or seasoning blends, ensuring uniform heat and colour distribution across multiple culinary applications. Storage: Store in a cool, dry place in a sealed container.
