Seed Origin: Austria Sowing: March to May Harvesting: July to September How To Grow Orange Chilli Pepper From Seed: Chilli Peppers do best when grown in pots in a greenhouse as they require plenty of heat. Without heat, they may not change to their pictured colour. Sow in small pots or seedling modules. Sow 1 seed per pot/cell. Cover lightly with compost and keep moist. Germination is most successful at temperatures of 22°C or above. A heat mat or heated propagator may be needed to achieve this. Germination can take up to 3 weeks. When the seedlings get their first true leaves, pot them on into a larger pot. Repeat this as the plant grows, giving it a bigger pot as it grows. After the plant flowers, the peppers will start to grow. They will turn from green to orange as they ripen. They can be harvested once they are fully developed, even while still green. Although if harvested while still green, they will taste more like a sweet pepper than a chilli.
