Gai lan, also known as Chinese broccoli, is a leafy vegetable in Brassica oleracea which includes broccoli, cabbage, kale, and brussels sprouts. Gai lan is flavorful and fragrant w ith a taste that is reminiscent of broccoli rabe with noticeably less bitterness. Broccolini is a hybrid of gai lan and broccoli.
