Spectators see a wooden box with a slot in the top and the bottom. The slot looks like it is big enough for a coin to pass through. However, if a square of glass is placed in the b ox, it blocks the holes. The magician now proposes the impossible: he will cause a coin to magically penetrate the sheet of solid glass. That's just what happens. The spectators can see the coin literally melt through the glass with the box held at eye level. A helper catches the coin as it falls out.
