Chizitaluum (2017) originates from Agbogho Chizitalu, a multidisciplinary fashion collection encompassing garments, textile works, jewellery, soundtrack and book, through which Chiizii explores her personal expression of femininity alongside Igbo ideals of womanhood. Translated into print from an original textile work, the process involved dyeing and bleaching denim, followed by screen printing. The palette is distinctly Igbo. The composition features a gradient, bleached and dyed ground, overlaid with the repeated name Chizitaluum, meaning God sent to me, and striped elements referencing traditional Akwete patterning. The work celebrates Chiizii’s individual expression of femininity while honouring the cultural roots that have shaped it.
