Clearance Price | 94 Points - Campbell Mattinson A.T. Richardson Wines was founded in 2005 by international winemaker Adam Richardson, who selected the unique terroir of the Grampians in Western Victoria to plant his Hard Hill Road Vineyard. Leveraging the region's cool climate and naturally low-yielding vines, their Chockstone Shiraz has built a strong reputation for consistently delivering a high-quality example of this popular regional style. With Adam Richardson stepping back from operations and moving back to North America, ATR Wines has officially ceased production, drawing a close to an exceptional chapter in Victorian winemaking. As a result, we’re clearing out final stocks of the 2022 Chockstone Shiraz at this discounted price (RRP $28). Another stunning Grampians Shiraz loaded with intense blackberry and chocolate flavours combined with black pepper, subtle spice and a soft, velvety mouthfeel. A delicious Shiraz with wide appeal, this offers sensational value for money drinking. "94 Points. This is a lovely wine, true to its grape and true to its region. It's peppery and smoky and twiggy and savoury, but it's bursting with blueberry and cherry-plum fruit too, and it keeps going all the way through to a sustained finish. Cedarwood oak has been expertly applied here - not too much, just enough. Some warmth to the finish is the only minor distraction. Otherwise, this wine is full of peppery, smoky, berried goodness. $28. 14.5% alc. Drink: 2024 - 2032."- Campbell Mattinson, winecompanion.com.au.
