Acrylic, oil, tile grout, spray paint, wood collage on canvas.48x36x1.50"Focusing on textures, both applied and implied, this piece is one of several from an earlier series of larger organic abstracts. "Sensuous layers of paint, combined with both organic and inorganic substances and non- traditional painting materials, ooze and undulate as they travel along each textured canvas. For me, they are truly Spiritual. Remnants of random pieces of nature from falling trees, windswept landscapes, and insects who have traversed each canvas have become part of these delicious tapestries created in the outdoors…. Some earthy, with a quiet strength. Others more vivid with LaMattina’s recognizable color palette.” Although most remain abstract, occasionally, a figure emerges!
