Triangle upper tapering to squared tips for secure control. Available in Chestnut, Cassia or Zelkova woods. Cassia wood option has an urushi finish. Chestnut is a dense, tannin-ric h tree native to Southern Europe and Turkey. The tannins help prevent damage from moisture adding to its durability. Zelkova is native to Southern Europe, Southwest and Eastern Asia. In Japan, Keyaki -- a Zelkova species -- is used to produce wadaiko, a traditional Japanese drum.
